Develop Partnerships With Adjacent Industries
My partner and I realized if we wanted to create a buzz and differentiate ourselves from our competitors, we needed to look outside our industry to leverage another network. As a furniture brand, providing quirky and unique designs have quickly become one of our main focal points. We look to partner with individuals and companies who share our vision. As a business owner and entrepreneur, this is something that should always be top of mind. Define what makes you unique and how you wish to brand yourself in order to establish successful partnerships.
Less than a year after our launch, we decided to take the plunge and partner with a fashion designer to develop his own furniture line. Combining his eclectic fashion style with his eye for interior design, we developed a successful line that went viral in India. Our collaboration with this designer led to the ability to leverage his network and co-brand, which further established us within our local market. This was a great way for us to create a product line that can be retailed at our outlet and the designer’s outlet.
Think Outside The Box
You have probably heard this advice a thousand times, but I can’t emphasize just how useful this can be. Every day my team and I work around the clock to think of unique ways to market ourselves. I decided to fuse my love for the culinary world and interior design to open the first true retail restaurant in India. Together with one of India’s largest restaurant chains, my company opened a restaurant where you can buy all the decor you see. The response thus far has been incredible and has inspired us to bring our other creative ideas to life. The whole idea was to enable people to experience our product first hand. It is a great extension of our quirky design and creates a unique experience that has helped raise our visibility.
Go beyond your comfort zone and explore different ideas to test the market. Developing a proper analysis to evaluate your ideas from several angles will help determine which to move forward with. Gather input from various sources before deciding upon execution.

No sum of paid advertising will ever amount to the value brand ambassadors can bring. Pride yourself on customer service and a company culture that thrives on providing the best experience internally and externally. How you interact with your team and customers will reflect on the type of business you are.
While there are thousands of furniture brands, we pride ourselves on being unique, affordable and delivering top-notch quality. Our brand ambassadors are our customers. Working with industry influencers can be a big perk but having your customers vouch for your products is invaluable. Seek out your customers who actively show their appreciation for your brand. Create a program that allows these individuals to vocalize and showcase their support. We’re now creating video testimonials and time-lapse videos of us doing up customer homes to give viewers an up-close and personalized experience of our brand.
